As a preacher’s kid who grew up in the Florida Conference of the United Methodist Church, I know first hand of the complexity of clergy life. Like any group that’s stereotyped, there is often an element of truth to the stereotype, but there is always more to the picture.

The PK Project is my capstone project for my Masters of Science in Journalism at the University of Southern California. I’m interested in the stereotype of the preacher’s kid in popular culture and what reality is really like for those who are the children of religious leaders.

This blog is a collection of experiences: good, bad and everything in between. It is where I hope to gain an accurate taste of what reality is like for children of religious leaders. While we have commonalities, no two stories are the same.
